About this walk
Beckton District Park is a 150-acre public park in Newham, created on the former site of the Beckton Gas Works. The 5.5km circular uses the park's outer track, descends to the Thames via Gallions Reach and the Royal Docks path and returns via the Docklands Light Railway viaduct. The park has an unusual mix of formal planted sections, open wildflower grassland and the ski slope. Dogs are off lead in the open grassland and outer park sections. The Thames at Gallions Reach is tidal and accessible from the park edge. Beckton DLR station is 10 minutes walk.
