About this walk
Bostall Woods is a 104-acre ancient woodland on the ridge above Abbey Wood in Greenwich, managed by the Royal Borough of Greenwich as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and Local Nature Reserve. This southern loop of 4.5km is a complementary route to the Lesnes Abbey and Bostall Woods figure-of-eight, using the woodland paths south of Bostall Lane to thread through the denser woodland sections of the lower escarpment and the valley floor. The woodland is ancient and varied, with significant stands of hornbeam and oak of considerable age and girth. Dogs are off lead throughout the woodland with no seasonal restrictions. Abbey Wood Elizabeth line station is 10 minutes walk.
