About this walk

The Capital Ring is a 78-mile circular walking route around inner London, and the Wimbledon to Richmond section is one of the finest stretches for dog walkers, a 9.5km route across the open commons and parkland of south-west London. Starting from Wimbledon Common Windmill, the route follows the Beverley Brook through Wimbledon Common, enters Richmond Park through the Robin Hood Gate, traverses the park to the Richmond Gate and descends into Richmond town centre via the riverside path. Dogs are off lead on the common and on lead in Richmond Park during the deer season from 1 March to 31 July. The Thames section near Richmond has riverside grass access for dogs.
