About this walk
Crane Park is a 37-acre Local Nature Reserve in the London Borough of Richmond, following the River Crane through Twickenham from Hanworth Road to the River Thames at Twickenham. The 5.5km linear walk takes the full length of the park along the river, passing the Shot Tower, a 19th-century industrial relic used in the manufacture of lead shot, through the riverside woodland and meadow of the core nature reserve, and continuing to where the Crane meets the Thames near Twickenham station. The River Crane is clean and shallow in most sections and dogs can paddle throughout. Dogs are off lead in the open sections.
