About this walk
Enfield Chase is an ancient royal hunting forest that once covered much of northern Enfield. The remaining Chase woodland at Crews Hill is a fragment of ancient oak woodland with wide forestry rides and connecting farmland footpaths. The 6.8km circular from Crews Hill station crosses the Chase woodland, follows the Ridgeway path along the northern ridge and returns via field paths through the Enfield green belt. Dogs are off lead throughout the woodland and field sections.
