About this walk
Elmstead Wood is a 36-hectare ancient woodland Local Nature Reserve in the London Borough of Bromley. Adjacent to the golf course at Sundridge Park, the 5km circular from the Elmstead Lane entrance covers the main woodland block, crosses the stream in the valley bottom and loops through the secondary woodland and meadow on the eastern boundary. The woodland is ancient oak and hornbeam with a characteristic dense understorey and rich woodland floor. Dogs are off lead throughout the nature reserve. The stream in the valley provides reliable dog paddling access.
