About this walk

Wake Valley Pond is one of the largest bodies of standing water in Epping Forest, a natural pond in a valley south of High Beach that is one of the main dog swimming destinations in the southern forest. The 7km loop from the Wake Arms roundabout car park circuits the pond, enters the dense oak and hornbeam woodland of the High Beech section, passes through the heath above the valley and returns via the ridge. Dogs are off lead throughout. The pond is freely accessible for swimming on the western shore.
