About this walk
Epsom Common is a 460-acre Site of Special Scientific Interest on the Surrey boundary adjacent to Greater London, with a mix of ancient woodland, heathland and the historic medieval Stew Ponds. The 7.5km circular from the Lower Court Road car park takes in the full woodland circuit, loops the Stew Ponds, crosses the open heathland of the common's southern section and returns via the Stew Pond dam. The Stew Ponds are medieval fish ponds and the water is accessible to dogs on the grass dam top. Dogs are off lead throughout the common and woodland.
