About this walk
Golders Hill Park is a 36-acre formal park at the north-west corner of Hampstead Heath, managed by the City of London Corporation. The 6.5km walk links Golders Hill with the full West Heath section of Hampstead Heath and the Sandy Heath birch woodland. Golders Hill Park has extensive off-lead grassed areas. The West Heath beyond is wilder and more heavily wooded, with the ground-nesting bird areas fenced seasonally but the rest entirely off-lead. Sandy Heath is much less visited than the Parliament Hill section. The Golders Hill Park cafe at the bandstand is dog-friendly outside.
