About this walk
Hackney Marshes is 337 acres of open grass and riverside land on the west bank of the River Lea Navigation in Hackney, managed by the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority. The 5.5km walk loops the full extent of the marshes, follows the River Lea Navigation towpath south to Hackney Wick and returns through the parkland of Mabley Green. Dogs are off lead throughout the marshes and along the towpath. The river is accessible at several grassy bank points. Mabley Green has a cafe that is dog-friendly outside.
