About this walk
The Hanwell Flight is a sequence of six lock chambers raising the Grand Union Canal 53 feet over less than a mile at Hanwell in Ealing. The 5.5km circular from Hanwell station follows the towpath down through all six locks, continues south to the aqueduct over the River Brent, loops through the Three Bridges area where the railway, road and canal intersect at the same point and returns via the Cuckoo Trail path. Dogs are off lead on the towpath throughout. The River Brent below the aqueduct is accessible for dogs from the riverside path. The Viaduct pub near Hanwell station is dog-friendly. Hanwell station is 5 minutes walk from the start.
