About this walk
Hollow Ponds is a group of artificial fishing lakes created during gravel extraction at the southern end of Epping Forest. The 4.5km Snaresbrook Loop circles the main chain of ponds, passes through the oak woodland of Whipps Cross and links to the grassland of Snaresbrook Crown Court grounds before returning along the western shore of the ponds. Dogs are welcome off lead throughout the Epping Forest sections. The ponds have gentle grass bank access for swimming dogs.
