About this walk
Plumstead Common is a 97-acre common in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, a rolling heathland and scrub open space on the ridge above the Thames, and Shrewsbury Park is a 16-acre managed woodland and open space that connects with the common via a ridge path. The 5.5km walk circuits the common, enters Shrewsbury Park, follows the ridge path with its long views north across the Thames estuary and returns via the heathland scrub section of the common's southern edge. Dogs are off lead throughout both sites. The ridge viewpoint from Shrewsbury Park is one of the finest Thames estuary views from any London park. Plumstead station is 10 minutes walk from the western edge of the common.
