About this walk
The Isabella Plantation is a walled woodland garden within Richmond Park, famous for its collection of evergreen azaleas that flower spectacularly in late April and May. This 6.5km circuit from Broomfield Hill car park routes through the park's open grassland, circuits the outer perimeter of the plantation fence and extends to the Pen Ponds section before returning. Dogs are not permitted inside the Isabella Plantation walled garden itself, but the circuit of the outer fence gives excellent views of the surrounding park. The open grassland sections of this route are some of the finest in Richmond Park for dogs who need distance. Note that seasonal lead requirements apply in the deer breeding season.
