About this walk
Sydenham Hill Wood is the largest remaining tract of the Great North Wood, the ancient wildwood that once covered south London. Today it covers 25 hectares managed by the London Wildlife Trust, connected by Cox's Walk, a restored Victorian iron bridge, to the Dulwich Wood section. Dogs are welcome off lead throughout both woodlands and on Cox's Walk. The pond at the mansion ruin is a popular paddling spot.
