About this walk
Teddington Lock is the tidal limit of the Thames, where the tideway ends and the non-tidal upper river begins. The 6km loop from the Bushy Park Diana Fountain car park takes in the north section of Bushy Park, descends to the Thames at Teddington Lock, crosses the river via the lock footbridge, follows the Surrey bank path south as far as Kingston Bridge and returns via Kingston town centre. Bushy Park is a Royal Park; dogs are permitted and off lead in most sections outside the fenced deer management areas. The deer herd here is substantial and dogs should be under control near deer at all times.
