About this walk
Telegraph Hill Park is a 14-acre park in Lewisham sitting at the top of the Telegraph Hill ridge, with views north to Canary Wharf and the City. The 3.5km New Cross Gate Circular links the park with the adjacent Friendly Street Nature Reserve. Telegraph Hill was one of the sites used in the chain of semaphore telegraph stations that relayed messages from the coast to the Admiralty in the early 19th century. Dogs are off lead in the park's open areas and in the Friendly Street Nature Reserve.
