Walthamstow Marshes are a Site of Special Scientific Interest managed by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, covering 88 acres of traditional hay meadow, reed bed and river bank on the Lea navigation. Dogs are welcome off lead on the marshes and the towpath alongside the navigation. Note that the adjacent Walthamstow Wetlands is closed to pet dogs; the Marshes are the dog-friendly area.
