About this walk

Watling Chase Community Forest is a large area of public access woodland, meadow and farmland on the Hertfordshire boundary north of Barnet. The 7km South Mimms Circular enters the forest from South Mimms village, follows the waymarked Watling Chase routes through the Furzefield Wood section, crosses the open farmland of the central plateau and loops back via the meadow corridor south of the motorway junction. The woodland is a mixture of planted community forest from the 1990s and older established blocks. Dogs are off lead throughout the forest and meadow sections.
